We’re a locally owned, fiercely independent sporting goods retailer rooted in the heart of downtown Nelson.

At ROAM, we pride ourselves on helping our friends (you!) get outfitted with high-quality gear that keeps you safe, dry, warm, and comfortable in the outdoors. Whether you’re heading into the backcountry or just out for a day of adventure, we’ve got you covered.

We specialize in backcountry ski touring, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, camping, trail running, and all-around outdoor fun.

ROAM has been part of the Nelson community for over 20 years, and over the past 15, it’s been proudly owned by Rob (ski guide and golf enthusiast) and Michelle (bike enthusiast and not a ski guide 😉).

We love our sports, we love our town, and we love our furry friends.
